Fine Motor Encouragement

Fine motor has always been a struggle for my precious O. It has been a humbling experience for this preschool teacher too. Several comments have been made by others about my not working with her enough. If you know me, you know that isn't true. She had a paint brush in her hand before she could speak!

With that said, something just clicked this summer, and she has made wonderful progress.

I found this drawing on the counter yesterday. I thought that it was a colorful man. She giggled and said that it was the girl in the book, Stripes.

Melt my (guilt-ridden) momma heart...

  1. I think its great.

Let me tell you a story. My precious son was quite, quite behind in GROSS motor skills. It wasnt because I didnt take him to the park enough or anything... it's because he wasnt going to fit into a box.

Guess what? It took him a year or so longer than the rest. Other parents did look at me odd on the playground when their 3yr olds were exploring and mine wasnt. Yes, I thought I was doing it all wrong... I needed a friend who had been through it to get all CHER in MOONSTRUCK AND SLAP ME AND SAY "SNAP OUT OF IT"

O is so amazingly special no box can fit her. She will catch up when she feels like it.

You know... J caught up just fine... and went on to be the best runner of his team. lol

    I will be your CHER!
