Teacher Gifts

I have such a great group of preschoolers that I get to spend 2 days with each week. They make me smile!
I have received a number of thoughtful gifts and cards which make me feel so appreciated.
This is the gift that was waiting for me yesterday. Love it! I know exactly what I will be doing this evening!
I will be reading this....
And snacking on this......
While watching an episode of my favorite show....The Mentalist.
It really is the simple things!
Have you blessed your children's teachers this year?

This Week's Trash to Treasure

Remember this boring valance from yesterday's post.

Well....I decided to dress it up a little!I wanted the valance to match this shower curtain in our master bath.
So, I made a similar leaf stencil out of card stock using my Xacto knife.
Here is the finished product!

I think that it is a step up from where it started.

Now, I want to stencil leaves around the top of my bathroom walls.

One thing always leads to another....

On to the leaf candle dishes.....

I bought 2 autumn harvest votive candles at Hobby Lobby today. They were on sale for $.50 each. I then used a piece of scrap fabric and tied them together. I want to add a tag that says, "I am so glad that I have "fallen" into your kindergarten/pre-school class."

My little man saw them when he got home from school.

He said, "Mom, these are CUTE!"

He wants to take the one that is less "pointy" to his teacher!

Gotta love this $1 teacher gift!

Turtle Soap

I received my first teacher gift of the year.
It is the cutest, pink, turtle soap that I have ever seen!
It is extra special because I am teaching in the "Turtle" room this year.A and O are so excited about washing their hands, and this simple act of kindness made my week!
Who knew that I could love turtle soap so much!
Now I am on a mission to figure out how to make animal soap!

Ministering to Our Children's Teachers

Last year at A's preschool, I had the opportunity to participate in a group that recognized and ministered to the teachers. Each month, I was encouraged to recognize A's teachers in a simple, inexpensive, yet creative way. (For example: notes of appreciation, small gifts, snacks, etc) It was such a blessing to me, and I think that it was a great encouragement to his teachers as well. I realized how important it is to acknowledge the men and women who are pouring love, time, and knowledge into our children. This is also a great way to teach our children to become more appreciative and to value the people in their lives. What a great life lesson! We may not agree with our child's teacher, but that doesn't mean we can't be a blessing to him/her. I am going to continue with small expressions of gratitude this year even though there isn't an organized group. I encourage you to think about uplifting and ministering to your child's teacher this school year. As a teacher, trust me when I say that you will never know how much these dedicated men and women value your thanks and encouragement.

This is what I am sending to A's teacher this week. I found this cute idea at pioneerpartyandgift.blogspot.com
